- Title
DISCUSSION AND EVALUATION: THE LEGALITY AND USE OF RAPID DNA TECHNOLOGIES.
- Authors
Steward, Erin R.
- Abstract
Testing of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) generally takes weeks or months 1 and a minimum of 24-72 hours with rushed processing. However, fully-automated Rapid DNA machines, the size of a desktop printer, can run multiple, single-source biological samples at the same time and produce DNA 2 profiles within approximately ninety minutes. The following Comment provides a background on DNA processing, compares current law on DNA testing to Rapid DNA applications, and discusses benefits and concerns of the use and implementation of Rapid DNA technologies.
