- Title
Civilizational Unity, Not Clash: How Gaza Challenged Samuel Huntington's Fantasies.
- Authors
BAROUD, RAMZY
- Abstract
This article discusses the fluidity of identity and challenges the concept of a "clash of civilizations" proposed by Samuel Huntington. It argues that identity is constantly changing and influenced by various factors, such as culture and history. The article also highlights the impact of globalization, particularly the spread of English language and Western entertainment, on cultural development. It suggests that the world is not defined by civilizational conflicts, but rather by power dynamics and the pursuit of economic interests. The recent war in Gaza is presented as a unifying force, with solidarity expressed by diverse groups across the globe.
