- Abstract
The article focuses on the activities which can be introduced by early childhood educators in bringing nature into the classroom to cultivate nature investigations as well as present a wonderful opportunity to introduce language and literacy to preschoolers. Educators can conduct investigations of leaves to allow these very young students to discover the various color, shapes and texture of leaves. Teachers can also hold investigation of bok choy to bring cultural diversity into the classroom. Furthermore, teachers can also use pinecones of different shapes and sizes in a classroom activity to allow students to compare and contrast these natural items.
