- Abstract
The article presents a study which describes the evolution of crystal orientation in snow microstructure in temperature gradient. The researchers have applied a temperature gradient to undisturbed decomposed snow and sieved snow for three months. The samples have been analyzed by micro-computed tomography and for thin sections. It indicates a different evolution between the two samples using similar density and specific surface area. It reveals that the sieve sample has no evolution, while the undisturbed snow has evolved from a weak single-maximum fabric into a weak girdle fabric.
