A 37 year-old pregnant woman presented at 37 week gestation with uncommon chest and shoulder pain, massive pleural effusion, and respiratory distress. Malignant mesothelioma is a rare thoracic malignancy in pregnancy which appears to be minimally affected by the pregnant state. Respiratory problems are the main anesthetic risks of this syndrome. Good management of these risks is necessary to preserve the prognosis.
