- Abstract
The article presents an analysis of Alfred Tennyson's elegiac poem "In Memoriam A.H.H.," discussing in-depth the various elements of Tennyson's grief, identity psychology, and the wholeness-brokenness dichotomy seen within the work. Subjects addressed include his treatment of the first person tense, influences from the classical forms of Petrarch, and various elements of mourning present in the poem's elements.
