Museums and the Living Artist.

- Abstract
During the past two decades, relationships between artists and museums have changed in subtle, but significant, ways. Artists have become more fully integrated into the day-to-day workings of the art museum, whether as employees, guest curators, or even as members of decision-making boards. A new awareness of museum ethics in the 1980s has led to questioning of some common practices, and issues such as censorship have come to the fore. What has emerged is the growing realization on the part of both museums and artists that their fates are inextricably linked.
