- Abstract
Based on the literature data, the conditions for an effective design of a furnace for the polymerization of mineral wool products are determined. It is shown that the lateral supply of the heat carrier to the working space is always accompanied by an uneven distribution of heat treatment conditions over the width of the mineral wool layer. The design of the inner part of the thermal chamber in the form of an inclined plate is substantiated. The average degree of non-uniformity of the temperature field of the mineral wool layer, estimated from the relative change in the average temperature over the horizons and over the entire section of the layer after the reconstruction of the heating chamber of the furnace, decreased from 122 to 5 – 7%. At the same time, there is 5 – 6 % increase in the productivity of the entire production line and a 3 – 4% decrease in scrap.
