- Abstract
The article presents a study on the application of chloroperoxidase (CPO), a fungal enzyme, to predict possible phenols halogenation in the ecosystem. The study performed a mass spectral analysis to determine further confirmation of structure using a Finnigan 3200 gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) system. The result of the study shows that through a halonium ion mechanism, lesser substituted chlorinated phenols may be formed.
