The article presents information on how cells can transduce spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) signals during interphase for providing a secondary level of cell cycle control. The study showed the significant role of nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) in formation of scaffolding mitotic checkpoint complex (MCC) during interphase.
