- Title
Cell division: Ciliary membrane inheritance directs ciliogenesis.
- Authors
Du Toit, Andrea
- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on the effect of cell division on the fate of ciliary membrane. It references the study "Asymmetric inheritance of centrosome-associated primary cilium membrane directs ciliogenesis after cell division," by J. T. M. L. Paridean, M. Wilsch-Bräuninger, and W. B. Huttner in the 2013 issue of the journal "Cell." The authors found that ciliary membrane stays attached to the mother centriole after mitosis.
