- Abstract
Based on the relevant raw data of the full-time teachers of ordinary high schools in China Education Statistical Yearbook (2000—2017), the regional allocation differences of various indexes among fulltime teachers in ordinary senior high schools in China have been calculated and analyzed. The analysis finds that the student-teacher ratio shows a downward trend, and that the proportion of female teachers, the number of teachers with master degrees and senior professional titles per 10 000 students, the proportion of teachers with senior professional titles, the proportion of teachers with postgraduate qualifications and the rate of reaching the academic qualifications show a year-by-year upward trend. In general, in terms of the minimum number of students that each teacher can serve, teachers’ professional titles and academic qualifications, the three cities of Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai are significantly higher than those in other regions, basically showing a trend of decreasing gradient from Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, the east to the central and the west. In terms of the level of difference, the level of full-time teachers with master degrees per 10 000 students is very different; the proportion of full-time teachers with master degrees and the number of full-time teachers with senior professional titles per 10 000 students are quite different; the proportion of full-time teachers with senior professional titles is not quite different; the proportion of female full-time teachers, the student-teacher ratio of full-time teachers and the proportion of teachers with intermediate professional titles are almost the same, and the level of the difference in the rate of reaching the academic qualifications is low.
