- Abstract
The article offers information on a cohort study of tumoral LINE-1 hypomethylation and prognosis in colon cancer. It states that genome-wide DNA hypomethylation occupies an essential role in genomic instability and colorectal carcinogenesis. The study identified that tumoral LINE-1 hypomethylation is independently related with shorter survival among patients of colon cancer. The authors in this study used 643 colon cancers in two independent prospective cohorts.
