SELECTION AND TRAINING FOR MANAGEMENT IN BRITISH NATIONALIZED INDUSTRIES.
- Authors
BELL, REGINALD W.
- Abstract
The article discusses the issue of selection and training for management in nationalized industries in Great Britain. There is specific provision for the training and advancement of those who are engaged in nationalized industries in all acts of the British Parliament which provide for the taking over by public corporations of large industries. The provisions differ but the general principle is the same. Under these acts, the corporations are obliged to provide all kinds of training and education whether technical, administrative or otherwise and to relate to all levels of the organization. Several acts including Coal Industry Nationalization Act 1946, Transport Act 1947, and Electricity Act 1948 are discussed.
