- Abstract
"Great Changes in New Mountain Villages" is the main content of Luo Weizang's two nonfiction works named Liangshan Narrative and The Road to Xiazhuang Village. He insists on the writing ethics of using facts to reach the reality and effectively intervening in the current rural scene. At the same time, his cross-field narration in sociology, cultural anthropology and history shows the complexity of rural reality in multiple dimensions, and also makes literature carry more real social and historical phenomena. His borrowing of literary writing techniques, such as novels and essays, imbues literary aesthetic character into the national epic of "Great Changes in New Mountain Villages" and makes up for the lack of aesthetics in non-fictional national narratives. Luo Weizhang's non-fiction writing effectively avoids the disadvantage of "theme first" in grand narration, and his writing style with both authenticity and literature may provide experience resources for contemporary Chinese national epic narration.
