- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on the weight loss expectations and goals in a population sample of overweight and obese adults in the U.S. According to the study, women and participants with higher body mass index (BMI) had greater weight loss expectations and goals. Based on the results, BMI and gender appear to be more important than previous weight loss experiences in determining expectations among persons planning a weight loss attempt.
