- Abstract
This article discusses the urgent need for anal cancer screening and further research in liver transplant recipients. It explains that liver transplant recipients are at a significantly higher risk of developing anal cancer due to immunosuppression caused by the transplant. The article emphasizes the importance of primary prevention through HPV vaccination and secondary prevention through screening with anal cytology and HPV testing. It also highlights the lack of consensus and guidelines for anal cancer screening in transplant recipients and the need for increased awareness and practices in anal cancer prevention among healthcare providers.
