- Abstract
This article discusses the management of iridocorneal endothelial syndrome (ICE) from a corneal and glaucoma perspective. The author highlights the importance of close follow-up for corneal decompensation and glaucoma aspects in these patients. The study compares primary penetrating keratoplasty (PK) and endothelial keratoplasty (EK) and finds that PK has better graft survival, but EK has additional benefits such as being less invasive and having faster rehabilitation. The article emphasizes the proactive management of glaucoma in ICE patients and recommends early intervention with glaucoma drainage devices. Overall, the author suggests that a coordinated approach by corneal and glaucoma specialists is necessary for optimal visual preservation in ICE patients.
