- Abstract
This paper intends to present a new and simple model to increase the quality of the analysis with respect to the decision about which construction system will be more suitable for the building that is being designed. The model gives a graphical output which can represent the actual importance of each one of the paradigms that are used in the decision protocol, including a comparative measurement of the possibilities to be presented to the contractor and the investor. Several conditions are studied to perform the analysis, for instance: the time of construction, the cost of construction, the environmental impact, the materials consuming procedures, the economical parameters and the safety of the construction method. From these conditions it is possible to get some or the performance parameters used as analysis tools, which are: the dimensional variability, global stability, durability of the solution, economical feasibility, constructability and sustainability. The results are presented in a radar graphics within an easy understanding to the client. One case study is presented with the discussion of the application of the method and the construction results.
