- Title
Community-Scale Renewable Energy.
- Authors
WISEMAN, HANNAH J.; BRONIN, SARA C.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the installation of community-scale renewable energy, mid-sized energy sources backed by resources pooled from private parties in close geographic proximity in the U.S. It states that the energy facilities could allow for economies of scale that could not be achieved by owners by working individually when established and used at the community level. It says that the community-scale renewable energy can lead to energy sprawl as well as inefficiencies in transmission. It adds that the installation of community-scale renewable energy should be promoted on backyards, vacant lots, rooftops, and common areas.
