SIMPSON, JEFFREY
- Abstract
The author comments upon and analyzes the state of political journalism in Canada. He uses an example of a reduction in Canada's Goods and Services Tax that was made by Finance Minister James Flaherty and that commentators were more interested in how it would impact Flaherty's career than how the change would effect the country. He comments on the people who watch pundits on television are impacted by what they see and the disconnect between what the commentators think their viewers are thinking and what they are actually thinking.
