- Abstract
The article analyzes the lack of digital skills in the training for public administration in Germany. It is noted that only few digital skills are taught in the training programs and that the administration does not create the necessary foundations. The authors emphasize that digitalization must be managed by all employees. There are differences in the study programs and regulations of the federal states and universities regarding the skills and content taught. It is pointed out that deficits must be compensated for through further training programs, which are often insufficient. This is seen as an example of organizational failure that contributes to Germany's lag in digitalization.
