- Abstract
The article provides background on the Fourth Amendment to U.S. Constitution and the border search exception. Topics discussed include court cases Riley v. California and Carpenter v. United States demonstrating how the Supreme Court has addressed digital data in the Fourth Amendment context; circuit split between the Eleventh Circuit and the Fourth and Ninth Circuits regarding how electronic devices have been treated at the border; and risk of privacy associated with the same.
