- Authors
Jones-Berry, Stephanie
- Abstract
The article discusses the nursing proficiency standards introduced by the British Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) which focused on how nurses may promote diet and a healthier lifestyle to overweight patients. Topics explored include the need to educate concerned patients on the health impact of poor nutrition, the motivational interviewing technique which may be employed to support behaviour change, and the way these standards can help increase health awareness of patients.
