- Abstract
The article discusses an atypical presentation of post-liver transplant biliary strictures, which may not show typical elevations in liver enzymes or imaging abnormalities. The authors suggest that this phenotype may be due to factors such as donor liver resilience, a critical threshold for hepatic injury, and differences in compliance between the donor and recipient biliary systems. They recommend a low threshold for considering MRCP and/or ERCP in post-transplant patients to detect and intervene early. This distinct phenotype highlights the complexity of post-liver transplant care and the need for proactive management.
