- Abstract
The article discusses shipper-carrier trade disputes that impact container trade and refers to statutes and documents that might aid in resolving such disputes. The U.S. Ocean Shipping Reform Act modified the Shipping Act that enhanced the scope of service contracts negotiation. The Act highlights two kinds of common carrier including ocean common carrier, which is a vessel-operating common carrier, and non-vessel-operating common carrier, a common carrier that does not operate vessels.
