The article offers opinions about a proposal for the U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines to include tribal court criminal convictions of Native Americans in an individual's federal criminal history. Topics include tribal sovereignty in the court system, the concept of respect for the work of tribal courts, and the theories of professor Kevin Washburn in relation to federal criminal procedure for tribal peoples.
