- Abstract
Determining the othering behaviors of school principals regarding the staff working in the school and related personnel can make a significant contribution to the field in terms of education and school management. In this respect, the aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable scale that can determine the othering behaviors of school principals. The draft scale consisting of 52 items was conducted with 475 teachers working in Batman province in the 2020-2021 academic year. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) for construct validity and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) for construct validation were performed with the same data. Based on the exploratory factor analysis, the scale consists of five subdimensions whose eigenvalues are greater than one. 68.445% of the total variance is explained. Based on the confirmatory factor analysis results, the Chi-Square value is acceptable and the AGFI is at an acceptable level. In addition, GFI, NFI and IFI are acceptable, and RMR is the perfect fit. The RMSEA value of the model is also at an acceptable level. Based on these results, it can be said that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool.
