- Abstract
This article explores the potential use of fungi and mycology in urban environments to address pollution challenges. It discusses the contamination of urban soils with substances like heavy metals and hydrocarbons and the need for sustainable decontamination methods. The article suggests using saprophytic fungi and fast-growing plants to remediate pollutants, highlighting the benefits of using biomaterials in art and design. It also discusses the economic and ecological advantages of using living art for remediation and emphasizes the importance of rethinking the memory and preservation of polluted sites. The text is a caption for an image titled "Cloison coupe-son en mycomatériaux de l’exposition Pour demain du Musée de la civilisation de Québec" by Alan Boccato, which showcases mycomaterials used in the creation of the image.
