- Abstract
The article described accumulation of crystals in alveolar macrophages from Surfactant Protein C (SP-C)–deficient mice during aging. Topics include the crystal inclusions present in alveolar macrophages do not have striations typical of intracellular collagen fibrils; and alveolar macrophages not be simply spectators of lung diseases such as fibrotic remodeling.
