- Authors
SHWAYDER, JAMES M.
- Abstract
The article discusses a legal case in which a patient sued her obstetrician due to alleged misreading of her ultrasounds that led to a intrauterine fetal death due to undetected cord and growth restriction to discuss whether obstetricians need to review images of an ultrasound study. The patient delivered at a hospital where her primary obstetrician did not deliver. The jury ruled in favor of the plaintiff and awarded her 1.2 million dollars in damages.
