- Abstract
The article discusses the Forty-Fifth Annual Ancient Philosophy Workshop, which took place at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in April 2022. The workshop, centered around the theme of Socrates, Socratics, and Sophists, has grown over the years to attract experts in ancient philosophy from around the world. While the University of Texas at Austin typically hosts the event, it has also been held at other institutions, with the University of Colorado Boulder hosting the first workshop outside of Texas in 1995. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign organized the most recent workshop, with support from various departments and programs within the university. The article also mentions that the author, Kirk Sanders, served as a faculty member in the Department of Classics at the University of Illinois and presents a collection of papers from the conference as a guest editor for the issue of ICS.
