African-American Investors Reluctant Investors...
- Abstract
This article presents a survey conducted by Ariel Mutual Funds and Charles Schwab & Co. about African American investors in the U.S. It has been observed that African Americans are qualified to invest but they are reluctant to get into stocks. The survey found several reasons, one of it was that they were more likely than white Americans to read books about investments. African Americans prefer to keep most of their assets in banks, insurance companies and real estates. There were 56 percent of African Americans who viewed investing in stocks as a gamble.
