- Abstract
The article discusses a study based on development of a detection system for the activation of inositol requiring kinase 1 α (IRE1α), an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress sensor. The study monitors activation of IRE1α by bimolecular fluorescent complementation (BiFC) assay used for evaluating protein interactions in cultured cells. The study mentions that BiFC may be helpful in differentiating activation behaviors of IRE1α.
