- Abstract
The article discusses the murine peritoneal macrophages activated by water-soluble extracts of bursaphelenchus xylophilus, a pine wood nematode. In both resident and inflammatory macrophages, Fc receptor-mediated phagocytosis was markedly activated by the pine wood nematode and the enhancement of specific phagocytosis was accompanied by an increase in the formation of immunoglobulin G-Fc receptor rosettes.
