- Authors
TAYLOR, GARY
- Abstract
An essay on Thomas Middleton, a 17th century Jacobean playwright is presented. Topics discussed include Middleton's tragicomedy "The Witch," having influenced at least two scenes of the play, "The Tragedy of Macbeth," by noted English playwright William Shakespeare. Also mentioned are the Macbeth problem not being disentangled from the legitimacy of attribution scholarship and the results of microscopic and statistical analysis of Middleton's and Sheakespeare's works.
