- Abstract
The aim of this study is to describe and compare dyslexic children and deaf children, two groups of students known for their phonological deficit and their delay in writing. Dyslexic children and deaf children were matched on age and on written competence and were compared to a group of normal developing writers of the same age and to a group of normal developing writers of the same written competence. Results of the written production analysis indicate that dyslexic children success rates are lower than those of the two normal developing groups of children. However, deaf children perform at the level of age matched normal developing children. Results are discussed according to written processes involved in the orthographical task.
