- Abstract
The article discusses the study which identifies a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate-oxidase (NADPH)-dependent reductase (CaCR) by genome data mining method from Candida albicans. It says that CaCR catalyzes asymmetric reduction to produce ethyl (S)-4-chloro-3-hydroxybutanoate ((S)-CHBE). Results show that (S)-CHBE was obtained without extra NADPH in a water or butyl acetate system.
