- Abstract
The article examines the factors responsible for heat-induced actin liberation from actomyosin in myofibrils. The study showed that when a myofibrillar fraction was heated with adenosine triphosphate (ATP), adenosine monophosphate (AMP), or inosine monophosphate (IMP), actin liberation occurred. From the results, it was concluded that AMP and IMP were the most responsible factors causing actin liberation from myofibrils and are possible factors also in the resolution of rigor mortis in muscles.
