Title
DOD Streamlines Its Purchasing Practices.
Abstract
U.S. Secretary of Defense William Perry has ordered a dramatic revision and simplification of the way the Pentagon buys its goods and key components for military systems. Perry said the biggest savings will come from purchases of technologically advanced components that are used as parts in military weapons and related systems. Perry simultaneously released the department's report on military specifications and standards, "Blueprint for Change."
