- Title
AMT Equipment to be Monitored.
- Abstract
The British National Centre of Systems Reliability, in conjunction with the British Department of Trade and Industry, have established an industrial club activity to monitor all aspects of reliability, availability and maintainability of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) equipment. The types of equipment to be monitored include machine tools; control multi-machine systems with automated guided vehicle systems and automated stores; automated assembly lines; automated warehousing and automated assembly. The aims of the project are to collect information relating to the design and operation of AMT equipment, from which reliability and availability parameters can be calculated for complete systems and stand atone items; and to identify areas and applications suitable for the introduction of condition monitoring technology.
