- Title
"Under Kilimanjaro"—Truthiness at Late Light: or Would Oprah Kick Hemingway Out of Her Book Club.
- Authors
Stoneback, H . R.
- Abstract
The article presents the author's views on the teachings of the book "Under Kilimanjaro," written by Ernest Hemingway, the noted English language novelist. The author would be teaching the book in a graduate seminar and feels that there are aesthetic reasons with language, character development, and style, scholarly reasons with the need to assess the real thing, and thematic reasons to do with the more complete presentation of major themes like new religion that drives so much of the narrative. In the book, Hemingway has a lot to say about truth and lies, in connection with the act of writing.
