This article examines the reconstruction of the European past in the revolutionary decade through the revolutionary narrative "History of Modern Europe," by Nicholas de Bonneville. It discusses a definition of European histories, the construction of a historical narrative of modern Europe, the literary and intellectual ambitions of Bonneville, and the significance of the French Revolution in the history of European history.
