- Abstract
The article focuses on the final rules jointly adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (FRB) to implement the broker exceptions for banks. These rules were adopted as part of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 (GLBA). The new provisions define terms relating to the networking exception from the definition of broker and the trust and fiduciary activities exception from the definition of broker, among others.
