- Abstract
This article develops a contribution to the field of postcolonial studies on Al-Ándalus from the anthropological thought of José Antonio González Alcantud in the context of the tradition of critical Hispanism. The anthropological work of González Alcantud published in the last two decades is an essential contribution to the humanities in the field of historical interpretation of Al-Ándalus. As well as the Moorish question, the border question or the possibility of a Hispano-American-Arabic dialogue in a postcolonial perspective. This article establishes a postcolonial dialogue between the work of the anthropologist González Alcantud and the authors of the Latin American decolonial current. It proposes tools and theoretical strategies to approach the Andalusian phenomenon from theoretical perspectives. Besides, going beyond Eurocentrism and the Westernist and colonial character of the hegemonic social sciences in contemporary universities.
