Publishers File Suit Against Treasury Department Over Publishing Restrictions.
- Authors
Randal, Judith
- Abstract
Reports that the Association of American Publishers' Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division, the Association of American University Presses, the PEN American Center and Arcade Publishing have filed a lawsuit against the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) over restrictions on scientific publications from sanctioned nations. Claim that the restriction is a violation of the essential right of Americans to learn about the world; Argument of the OFAC that the policy is aimed at improving the submission from an author who lives in a sanctioned country such as Cuba, Sudan or Iran.
