- Abstract
Eastman puts forward an argument against nominalist actualism that is rooted in quantum I potentiae i that integrate local-global interactions without themselves having any specific spacetime location. From Eastman's point of view, admitting I potentiae i back into Nature is far more parsimonious than the actualist/nominalist interpretations of quantum theory (e.g., the many-worlds and multiverse hypotheses) (94). Eastman seeks to re-embed the scientific perspective within the evolving universe that gave rise to it, such that "the most fundamental notions [of natural science] can be inferred from normal human experience" (5).
