- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines a condition of a 25-year-old man with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and describes a novel translocation and constitutive activation of KIT, a class II receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK), through cytogenetic analysis as t(4;9)(q11;q33). A interphase fluorescence through in situ hybridization was performed to characterize the translocation in details. Split signals have been detected with bacterial artificial chromosome clones RP11-525G7 and RP11-477J21.
