- Abstract
The article discusses a study in which two prescription drug databases of local health authorities in Italy identified that 10% of Triptan users were at risk for medication-overuse headache (MOH) because they were dispensed the drug for 10 days a month for 3 consecutive months. Mentioned is the accepted finding that MOH can be triggered by the regular overuse of all symptomatic treatment for migraine, i.e. ergotamine. triptan, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) and opioids.
