- Abstract
Bismuth tungstate (Bi2WO6), with a narrow bandgap (2.7 eV), can degrade pollutants with a remarkable photocatalytic effect under visible light and has gained interest among researchers in recent years. Bi2WO6 photocatalysts have mainly a layered multistage structure with a strong adsorption capacity and weak photocatalytic activity. Usually, the Bi2WO6 photocatalysts are prepared by a hydrothermal method, which is not conducive to separation, treatment, and reuse. Therefore, it is necessary to design and synthesize Bi2WO6 with a spatial network structure to improve its catalytic activity and reusability, because the structure has the characteristics of high specific surface area, many active points, and strong flexibility. In this review, an electrospinning method for preparing different kinds of Bi2WO6 is introduced, in which the theoretical basis and experimental procedures are emphatically analyzed. In addition, their photocatalytic degradation activities under visible light are summarized.
